Fayetteville, Arkansas Prepares for Find Waldo Local 2023
Update August 1st 2023: Where’s Waldo Fayetteville 2023 has now concluded! Thank you so much to everyone for participating, and for all of the locations around town that made it such a special event. Find Waldo Local is a nationwide “shop local” event cosponsored by the American Bookseller’s Association and Candlewick Press - the publisher behind the famous Where’s Waldo? books. And this year this exciting event is coming to Northwest Arkansas for the first time! Our bookshop is very honored to host this year’s event for Northwest Arkansas, and we’re going to be joined by several local businesses around town to make this a truly fun and memorable event for Fayetteville families throughout the whole month of July.
Note: This article will update throughout the month of July with bonus locations to find Waldo and earn bonus entries into the contest. Keep an eye out for updates!
Waldo will be hiding around town in several of your favorite local businesses, and it’s going to be your job to track him down at every stop. After you find Waldo, you’ll need to take photographic evidence and post it on social media as proof of your success - and to get an entry into the grand prize drawing at the end of July!
It’s a citywide Waldo manhunt, and you’ll have 1 month to complete your mission. The more Waldos you find, the more entries you’ll have in the big drawing. And for someone who grew up loving the Waldo books, there’s a lot of anticipation building around here for seeing the great Waldo chase come alive in real life.
The festivities will kick off with a party at The Shops at BrickCity on July 1st - where you’ll also be able to find more than one Waldo! The Candy Event will be there with red and white striped cookies, and we’ll have all the Waldo books you could ever need in our bookstore (and the largest Waldo in town!). This will also be your chance to grab your scavenger hunt guide with a list of all the locations in Fayetteville where a Waldo is hiding!
You’re also going to have a chance to get 5 bonus entries right off the bat if you take a picture with the mystery gentleman dressed as Waldo himself! We are also going to have games and the opportunity to win a Waldo tattoo!
I hope you’re as excited as I am about this fun event, and I hope you plan on joining us during the month of July while we run around town hunting Waldo and supporting local businesses at the same time. We will update this article once the list of locations is finalized, and will include a copy of the scavenger hunt guide on this page as well. But, in the meantime, mark July 1st on your calendar for the kickoff party at The Shops at BrickCity Fayetteville and Dad Suggests!

Find Waldo at one of the locations listed below.
Take a photograph of/with Waldo.
Share your photo on social media (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter).*
Tag the store or location where you found Waldo.
Include the hashtag #WheresWaldoFayetteville
*Note: Please ensure that your entry posts are set to PUBLIC so that they can be seen for the drawing.
1 entry per location
1 winner will be drawn by random number generator on August 1st, 2023 and contacted through social media
Duplicate entries for locations or other violations of the rules will result in disqualification
Winner must be local and available to pick up the grand prize pack at Dad Suggests books (no shipping).
Bonus entries and locations will pop up throughout July and will be announced on social media. Keep an eye out!
