It’s October! The best time of the year! Dig out the Halloween decorations and find all of your scary books and movies - the countdown to the best holiday of them all has begun. And we have a special spooky picture book giveaway for you!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve literally been waking up to music from The Nightmare Before Christmas every morning for about 2 weeks now. Our son has set it as an alarm, and, honestly, I don’t really mind at all. Halloween deserves to be stretched out every bit the same as Christmas does.
So of course we had to do a spooky giveaway this month. We’re giving away a copy of Sir Simon: Super Scarer by Cale Atkinson, and it’s truly an amazing picture book. It’s probably our favorite ghost story of all time. It’s legitimately very funny and a heartwarming story of friendship - but perhaps the very best part is how much Atkinson’s love for classic scary movies shines through.
There are actually dozens of scary movie Easter eggs hidden throughout the book. They could easily go completely unnoticed if you didn’t know to look for them, but I swear if you are a horror fan you will fall in love with the details hidden in this book. I know I certainly did.
