Dad Suggests was created to share with others the many different things that we have loved sharing with our own children.

Our hope is that - by reading or visiting our children’s bookstore - you will find something special to enjoy with your own family.

May Giveaway: The Giving Tree

May Giveaway: The Giving Tree

With his famous picture book The Giving Tree, Shel Silverstein gave all of us the most perfect depiction of true love ever written. It’s beautiful and inspiring and heart-wrenching. The classic story of a tree and its boy has a lot to teach children about life, and it’s also a work of art that evolves and delivers more meaning as you age. I couldn’t be more excited to share a copy of this masterpiece with one of you this month!

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Tina M. on winning a copy of The Giving Tree!

The Giving Tree has already appeared on three of our lists so far on Dad Suggests. It made the ultimate list of things that make me cry, it made the top picture books about love, and it even made the top picture books of all time. I think it’s obvious by now how much I love this book, and I consider it a noble cause to get it into the hands of as many people as possible.

There will be one winner of a hardback copy of The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. The winner will be chosen at random after the ending date of May 31st at 12:00 a.m. EST. Entry into monthly giveaways is a reward for our subscribers, so make sure to subscribe to our newsletter. (You can find the sign-up box for our newsletter at the bottom of every page on DadSuggests.com.)

And, as you’ll see, there are a few optional ways to earn extra entries if you’d like to increase your chances! The winners will be contacted through the e-mail they provide and will have to provide a US address for shipping at that time. Open to US mailing addresses only and you must be 18+ to enter. You can also refer to the official rules.

Good luck! And help us spread the word if you know of any any parents or teachers out there who you think need a copy of this incredible book!
