May Giveaway: Crunch the Shy Dinosaur
Giveaway Closed: Congrats to Terry J. on winning!
This month we’re going to share a wonderful picture book with one of our readers. It’s a very funny interactive picture book called Crunch the Shy Dinosaur - and it’s perfect for our 4-year-old right now.
I’m a big fan of this one because of the interactive elements. I actually enjoy those kinds of books a lot - and our kids really love them. If done right, it can be a lot of fun to ask your kids to participate like they’re a part of the book. In this case, your kids are asked to talk to Crunch, and sing to him, and talk quieter because the volume of their voice is scaring him.
There are legitimate laugh-out-loud moments for me - and there’s a great sense of comedic timing and understanding from Cirocco Dunlap. And it always makes me so happy to see our kids get really and truly engaged in the read aloud.
It’s also illustrated by a popular illustrator in our house - Greg Pizzoli. He illustrates the “Jack the Rabbit” easy readers written by Mac Barnett, and it’s always a pleasure to see familiar, favorite art styles - especially when the kids actually recognize it.
There will be one winner of a new hardcover copy of Crunch the Shy Dinosaur by Cirocco Dunlap. The winner will be chosen at random after the ending date of May 31st, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. EST.
Entry into monthly giveaways is a reward for our subscribers - to give back to readers for following along with Dad Suggests.
